Hi, my name is Sebastiaan; welcome to my website! I am a computer scientist researching and developing algorithms, tools, techniques, and methods in the field of process mining.
In 2019, I obtained my Ph.D. degree, awarded by the Eindhoven University of Technology, on Process Mining with Streaming Data. Prof. van der Aalst was my 1st promotor; Prof. van Dongen was my 2nd promotor.
In the middle of 2018, I started as the deputy head of the process mining research group of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence department of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology. In 2021, I was promoted to research group leader, and I was additionally appointed as the deputy department head. As of April 2023, I lead Celonis’ Process Mining Innovation Lab in Aachen.
